Gökçe ŞİMŞEK; B.Arch., M.Sc., Ph.D. Received B.Arch. (1996) at Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, and M.Sc. in Restoration (2002), Ph.D. in Restoration (2009) at METU Faculty of Architecture. Studied as a Post-doctoral researcher in the Austrian Archaeological Institute on understanding the impacts of conservation of an archaeological site on regional development, the case of Ephesus in 2013. Directed the organizing community of the Symposium titled “Cultural Heritage & Woman” in 2015. Published and presented several articles in different journals and academic platforms. Currently employed as Professor in the Department of History of Art, Adnan Menderes University in Aydın. Research topics and areas of interest are preservation and management of archaeological sites, preservation education for public, preservation of traditional architectural heritage and the link between development and cultural heritage.
